Getting Back To It

Hello everyone,

I’m on time this week for a change lol.

After getting back and recovering from the opening round of Yvonne’s real-life racing at Silverstone, I jumped into iracing for the opening round of season 6 of the RPM league, we were at Sebring this week as it was the lead-up to the 12hr race at the weekend but more about that later. Having never raced around Sebring I felt I kind of knew the track as I have watched so many others drive around it in various events, to my surprise though it was very bumpy and kept the car on the edge which I initially didn’t like that much and I was beginning to hate the track as I couldn’t get a clean lap in. After many many laps, I finally managed to get some consistency and put some clean laps in. Come to the race I decided I would try and keep it easy and not push too hard. It kinda worked, I qualified mid-field as usual as the pace wasn’t there and I tried to look after the car. I don’t remember crashing but I had a few big slides and a half spin which cost me some time and I ended up finishing ninth in class.

Saturday was the day of the 12hrs of Sebring, in our split we got lucky and didn’t have any of the lmp2 cars so it was just GT3s to worry about. We qualified midpack but were soon challenged in the top ten, the top three kinda drove away from the rest of us but the battle from fourth to twelfth was fierce. Unfortunately, all three of us at one point or another put it in the wall so we lost around thirty minutes with repairs, we finished the race in the dark in twenty-eighth place, a race of could have been’s because the pace was there for a top ten easy.

To sign you all off, we have the new Clio in iracing with our livery on :)

see you all next week….
