A New Season Begins…

Hello everyone…

Well, at least this Blog is nearly on time, a day late instead of a week late lol.

Last week I only had time for one race. It was the opening week of season two for this year on iracing, it was at Sebring, a track I’m still getting to grips with, it’s very bumpy and will throw you into the wall if you are not careful. I did a few practice laps and then went into the race, qualifying was average, I don’t have a super pace here but I can be consistent. The race went pretty much the same as qualifying, just kept it safe and consistent, gaining a few places here and losing a few there, overall finishing in the midfield as I expected. We have the Sebring twelve-hour race here at the end of the week so I will need to put some more practice in to try and bring the lap times down.

The reason I didn’t have much time for online racing was that it was Yvonne’s first race this season for Team BRIT in the Citroen C1 championship, a car I should also be racing but couldn’t secure my seat in time due to funding, something I’m obviously upset about but I put that to the back of my mind and I did my best to support her. Thursday we had a track day at Brands Hatch, it was a bit cold but it is to be expected in pre-season, we don’t have the luxury of jetting off to warmer climates lol. After some teething problems with the car in the morning, she ran smoothly and all afternoon with all the drivers getting some decent track time.

Sunday was race day with the qualifying in the morning all three drivers managed to set a time and we weren’t last, so that’s a plus. Yvonne started the race and looked after the car very well making sure to avoid the cars that were trying too hard and going off track. Each of our drivers was going to drive an hour and a bit so once Yvonne was done it was Asha’s turn and Noah was to finish off. Asha has a dynamite stint, drove fast and looked after the car, Noah finished off, he was quick but had a few scratches on the car, But at least the Team finished the race which is more than can be said for some teams. So onto Oulton park in a month’s time and I can’t wait to see the team shine again :)
